Boris Kodjoe was born on March 8, 1973 Vienna, Austria. His father Eric Kodjoe was a physician from Ghana and his mother Ursula was a psychologist of German descent.
Needless to say, coming from that background you would have no choice but to grow up inspired. He speaks 4 languages all fluently(German,French, Spanish, and of course English). Growing up he dreamed of being a professional tennis player. No not basketball or football, he wanted to be the next Authur Ashe. But while playing tennis for Virginia Commomnwealth University where his brother Patrick played basketball he suffered a back injury and the rest is history.
Boris Kodjoe soon started modeling and then acting appearing in music videos such as TLC's "Red Light Special" and Faith Evans "Never Let You Go". His film include Love and Basketball in 2000, also that same year he was part of the main cast in the Soul Food series on Showtime. He starred on the show until it's end from 2000 to 2004 where he also met his wife Nicole Ari Parker. In 2002 he was in Brown Sugar and also was one People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World."
In 2004 he was in a TV series on the UPN called Second Time Around also with Nicole Ari Parker. In that same year he starred in the movie entitled Doing Hard Time. It was in 2005 that I think he had his best acting role as he played David Taylor in The Gospel. I love him in that role, I just always wondered if he really was singing in that movie.
But 2005 wasn't just great because of The Gospel role but on March 5, 2005 his daughter Sophie Kodjoe was born. Sophie was born with spina bifida which is Latin for split spine and she's just fine. On May 21st he married his former co-star Nicole Ari Parker. The wedding took place in Germany.
It was in 2006 another great year for him that he hooked up with Tyler Perry to star in Madea's Family Reunion and his second child, Nicolas Kodjoe was brought into the world on December 17th.
In 2007 he was guest star on the FX series Niptuck and starred in the romantic drama All About Us.
